As a result of the high level of unemployment in Nigeria, the Office of the Vice President reached out to the UK government in September 2015 for assistance in developing a new Job Creation Unit. Through Policy Development Facility Phase II, an Embedded Adviser was provided, together with further support to develop a strategic framework to underpin the government’s job creation initiatives. Implementation of the framework is built around three key areas – Npower, skills acquisition and innovation hubs – and this story of change highlights achievements in the areas of Npower and innovation hubs.
